Pulitzer Prize Nominee Featured on Author Learning Center
Bloomington, IND (PRWEB) November 11, 2011
Author Learning Center, the premier online author education resource for writers engaged in any stage of the story development or book marketing process, today announced Pulitzer Prize-nominated author Victor Villaseñor will be featured on the site in a series of informative video interviews.
“The Polished Word” is the first of many video interviews with Villaseñor where he delves into the writing process and explains how he honed his craft. In a very elegant and casual manner, he expresses the importance of preparing to write, describing his current project where he isolated himself for days before writing a single word. Edits are also a crucial step for Villaseñor, even more important than the writing itself. “I’m a rewriter, that’s what I am,” he said. “When I finally have a first draft, it’s actually the twentieth draft.” To watch the video, click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzfeFbVqygQ
After producing nine novels, 65 short stories, and receiving 265 rejections, Villaseñor sold his first novel, “Macho!”, which the Los Angeles Times compared to the best of John Steinbeck. This began a journey that would eventually lead to the publication of the national bestseller, “Rain of Gold.” Published in seven languages and used by thousands of teachers and school systems across the nation as required reading, “Rain of Gold” tells the story of Victor’s family, taking the reader from war-torn Mexico during the Revolution of 1910 to the present day.
“Victor Villaseñor is a renowned Pulitzer Prize finalist who spent a lifetime mastering his craft,” said Keith Ogorek, senior vice-president of marketing at Author Solutions, Inc. “Thanks to the Author Learning Center, his knowledge and understanding of both fiction and nonfiction writing is now available instantly at the click of a button.”
Victor Villaseñor joins Stan Lee and Seth Godin as one of many A-list authors interviewed by the Author Learning Center. Over the next few months, new content will be available from other publishing industry leaders including Mitch Albom and Elmore Leonard.
The Author Learning Center’s full catalog and book development features are available on a yearly subscription basis for $ 149.00. Free, limited guest access is also available. For more information or to claim a free trial subscription please visit http://www.authorlearningcenter.com.
